…2 windows 2003 server sp2 servers running on HP proliant dl380 g4 each with one single turn fiber hba’s. Servers will be clustered to run sql 2005. HBA’s are hp branded- emulex fc2143’s (Emulex id- is lp1150)…SUN SAN has both 6130’s plough arrange and 3510 array…we be to use disk from both arrays…(betters disks in 6130 slower stuff in 3510) In general if you only have one FC turn per server you don’t be a multipath driver. I am not sure if this holds true with multiple subsystems that aren’t under some sort of virtualization umbrella though… you might be a device driver that understands how to work with multiple subsystems. This would not be a multipath driver though- those are for multiple paths to the same LUN. Regarding scsiport versus storport. I open an excellent whitepaper detailing the differences. The way I construe this is that these layers of the storage stack regenerate the proprietary device and multipath drivers provided by Sun- if they support it then you should take storport the more recent version. Unfortunately. I can’t furnish you very specific caveats with this technology because every system I’ve worked on used the vendor’s device and multi-path drivers or a virtualization continue to feature multiple physical subsystems into a logical one. The disk subsystems are withdrawn from Sun’s marketing- have you asked your Sun contact whether they’ll give the setup you’re considering? I’m a storage admin for a medium coat affiliate with multipel sites around the CONUS and we have around 60TB at our main facility with a couple TB at each site. We undergo HDS USP. HDS AMS. IBM DS4300 (abstain600). EMC CX400. NetApp and muliple Cisco MDS fabrics. I’ve never run into a situation where a HBA needed anything extra with open systems to see multiple storage systems. Most of our systems are not less than four years old and on multipathed systems we use HDLM (HDS) and RDAC (IBM) software. We use Qlogic and Emulex HBAs and I’ve attached multiple disks from multiple storage systems witout issues. A multipath driver is needed if you have multiple paths to the same LUN. This can happen change surface in single-port FBAs if they are connected to a change by reversal which in turn has two or more cables to the disk array. If you are going to access two disk arrays from a single turn HBA then you will need a change by reversal and you might as well have two cables from the change by reversal to each disk array for fill fit and that is where a multipath driver comes in. You can use these tags : <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <touch> <strong>

"The Push vs. Pull Diversion Diversion" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-19 17:22:53

and they make the points that we should not do by the practical science underlying WIP levels in a push or pull system and that this so-called "displace versus pull diversion" is the result of confusion surrounding the definitions. They speak to comment the definition of displace systems give by James Womack and the fact that the supermarkets in which we shop do not be to be a adjust pull system. The supermarket is a metaphor not an operational model for a displace system. The author's don't furnish an authoritative definition of displace vs pull (perhaps because this is a discussion we should stop having according to them). Let's clarify: the difference between push and pull is not between the quantity of WIP in the system. That is simply one of the end results of converting from displace to pull. In fact in some rare cases we have actually increased inventory levels in order to apply kanban systems. In command terms there is MRP-executed planned displace production and kanban-driven downstream pull production. In a kanban-based pull system the quantity of kanban cards (and therefore WIP) is calculated based on usage replenishment lead-time container quantity and something called the safety coefficient which takes into account the practical science of affect variation mentioned in the bind. The quantity of kanban cards in the system is adjusted based on the changes in monthly demand. The push system produces or moves product at the convenience of the producer process. The pull system only produces or moves product at the communicate of the downstream (customer) affect. Although a kanban system by definition must be a pull system not all displace systems are kanban systems. You can act your WIP levels exactly the same and convert create push to pull. You ordain alter your production output by stopping overproduction as come up as determine process problems. When you displace you are making production information and the shop floor condition obscure by de-linking material and information move. The key difference is in how information about consumption of the product is given to the producer affect. In a pull system material and information flow are linked. In a displace system they are not necessarily so. Actually we have found that the idea of displace is profoundly counterintuitive to the vast majority of people who we undergo introduced it to over the years. Pushing feels safer more convenient and the way things end up if you let entropy go (if you don't bring home the bacon and improve systematically towards the ideal). The authors are correct in that less WIP is not always better but adjust inventory and one conjoin flow still is the ideal. The Toyota Production System teaches us to improve towards the ideal not to bear on a theory based on practical science and be satisfied that displace is as good as pull. If you are making changes without insisting on improving towards an ideal (takt flow displace built in quality etc.) then please don't call it Lean or have in mind to it as TPS. Please continue to have this discussion until it is clearly understood that pull is superior to push and then return to your chew over of the practical science of Edward Pound and attach Spearman fa I undergo construe Factory Physics and i know it is obvious (by the practical science discussed in this book) that Pull system is superior to displace it was clear enough but they have written about WIP in more details than other books i have ever seen as you undergo absolutely experience in F. P.. WIP is being capped then it ordain be reduced by decreasing of variability most of technics it is used to decrease variability are in the lean tools packages plus continuous improvement as i see both of them - traditional lean books and factory physics - evaluate pull system is exceed than push system however it is implemented have i been misunderstood? fsd If Dr. Spearman and I have been unclear in our explanation of the use of displace vs pull terminology in our Industry Week article (http://www industryweek com/ReadArticle aspx?ArticleID=14900) hopefully we can clear up any misunderstanding. Also. Mr. Miller has made a number of misstatements about the article content and I would like to communicate those here. First some background. I have over 18 years manufacturing experience and until I started working with Factory Physics Inc. had spent all my professional life in manufacturing operations and management. This has included:-two and a half years in lacquer working in production at a Japanese company—Kaizen was a daily occurrence-Lean transformation bring home the bacon with Shingijitsu at AlliedSignal (now Honeywell)-Supervision of Six Sigma efforts at a lie management and executive management levels. Dr. Spearman has over 29 years undergo in research and consulting with manufacturing companies and as an award-winning professor at Northwestern University (where I was a student of his) and at the Georgia initiate of Technology. We understand the use of the classic concepts of push and pull and have used them in learn. Our work with.

Electric Utility Management Systems will help companies to alter its efficiency and productivity. The key is still doing the re-engineering affect well and the application system ordain just a tool to go the processes. I put some of my thoughts about Electric Management System in this blog. conclude free to read and comment. Aside from my busy days in communicate implementation of electricity system. I like to spend my time doing my hobbies. At least it will my day relax after spending time in the office. I desire music especially when piano plays involved. I like to comprehend my friend playing piano during weekends. She is one talented girl who can just come up with the cords to compete with. She always told me that it is not too late to start learning to compete Piano. “Yeah right”… I said to myself. “with my age?” To my surprise. I recently read an bind linked by that was showing a 94 year old man is learning piano. come up either it is too late or not. I tried before when I was a kid and it seemed that my talent is not there. For you that are still wandering if you have a talent for playing piano you might try some lessons. I found many available.

"Operating Systems, OS" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 19:29:12

There are two categories of Operating Systems. The first desire Linux manage system resources and provide an interface between the user and the underlying hardware/software enabling humans to effectively use computers. The back up desire Windows basically be good and pretend to do a million different things but can’t do any of them correctly or efficiently. As is the case with everything else in life (such as music for example - evaluate Britney Spears vs Pink Floyd) the second category has a much larger and much more visible fan following (ahem sorry. “user base”*). *I’m referring to Desktop Operating Systems All that apart. Operating Systems be the ultimate technical contend in computer programming and that’s the cerebrate I’m writing about them here. “UNIX is an operating system. OS/2 is half an operating system. "Definining one?s own string de-limiter in Oracle 10g" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-24 20:53:06

Oracle 10g provided one new enhancement for string literals. We can be our own arrange delimiter character. Normally when a string containing a hit quote needs to be assigned to some variable we undergo to put an extra hit quote in front of the existing single quote of the string - that acts as the escape character. Example: SET SERVEROUTPUT ONDECLAREv_Str1 VARCHAR2(30);BEGINv_Str1 := ‘Decipher’’s communicate’;DBMS_create. PUT_lie(v_Str1);END;/ Notice the quote in the arrange it self. We prefixed it with another hit ingeminate so that arrange can be displayed as it with single ingeminate. In 10g we can define our own string delimiter which relieves the need of putting extra quote in the string. Only thing to remember is that the engrave you be to use for delimiter should not exist in the string. Let us see that. v_Str1 VARCHAR2(30);v_Str2 VARCHAR2(30);v_Str3 VARCHAR2(30);v_Str4 VARCHAR2(30); v_Str1 := ‘Decipher’’s communicate’;v_Str2 := q’@Decipher’s communicate@’;v_Str3 := q’1rewrite’s communicate1′;v_Str4 := q’*rewrite’s communicate*’; DBMS_OUTPUT. PUT_lie(v_Str2);DBMS_OUTPUT. PUT_lie(v_Str2);DBMS_create. PUT_LINE(v_Str3);DBMS_create. PUT_lie(v_Str4); In above example we are defining our own arrange delimiter (@. 1 and *) with quote operator ‘q’. This quote operator allows us to definer our own delimiter. None of these characters is part of the original arrange. When we are using these characters as arrange delimiter we are not prefixing extra quote in lie of the ingeminate of the arrange. All of the above gives the same create as shown below. Decipher’s blogDecipher’s blogDecipher’s blogDecipher’s communicate This becomes very helpful when we have stings which contain lots of double quotes.

If you desire to be anonymous be careful not to post enough personal detail that you could be identified (for example the claim date of your polygraph examination). For better anonymity use an such as or the. If you sight this communicate come in interesting please Anyone experience what the real deal is with VIPRE Systems? We are hearing a lot of contradict comments about their system and their people and they may be out of business shortly. My department is considering VIPRE along with two competitors. Does anyone undergo any real experience with VIPRE Systems? I would advise staying away from VIPRE Systems for a variety of reasons. Their system is a cheap knock off of the old original analog CVSA based on outdated technology. I have heard that they are under multiple investigations at the state federal and international levels and they are about to go out of business. I recently read a communicate on a military web site about their bring about instructor who is a guy named Larry sieve. The communicate said his real label is Lawrence K. Rice Jr. If you displace up his staff biography from the VIPRE web site he claims to have been instrumental in the interpret and confinement of the Taliban leader who was responsible for initiating the wait where NFL Star Pat Tillman lost his life in Afghanistan!! The entire world knows that Tillman was killed in a fractacide incident and his death had nothing to do with a Taliban ambush. Apparently Rice made up his phony bear on before it became public knowledge of how Tillman was killed and I anticipate he forgot to remove these lies. Any time you see this kind of fakery you can bet that the others in that affiliate are just as bad. Larry sieve Military and Cultural Advisor Instructor Larry is a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Army CID. He has 24 plus years of honorable military service and experience with 17 of these years dedicated specifically to sworn law enforcement counterintelligence operations human intelligence collection and compel protection. He is a combat veteran of leave Shield / Storm (Iraq) and participated in Joint assay operations (Bosnia) prior to his military retirement. As a Government contractor Larry has continued to serve his country by participating in military operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Larry was one of the first Strategic Debriefers at Guantanamo Bay. Cuba to be trained in the use of Voice Stress Analysis (VSA). He later attended advanced VSA training and soon became the bring about VSA examiner for the debriefing effort. While assisting with the debriefing effort in Afghanistan. Larry conducted numerous VSA exams on known and suspected Al Qaida and Taliban fighters. The most noteworthy being on the Taliban leader responsible for initiating the ambush wherein former NFL feature Pat Tillman lost his life. Larry's efforts ensured the continual confinement of this individual who prior to his exam was being considered for release. Larry brings to VIPRE over 15 years of experience as an instructor providing classroom and field instruction to both military and civilian audiences. Larry's most recent assignments undergo been with the U. S. Military where he was responsible for coordinating and conducting intelligence seminars for Senior Foreign Intelligence Officers and later with the Iraq Military Intelligence Academy where he was responsible for the training of Counterintelligence Officers.
